Pennsylvania Partners Present Legal and Liability Training to West Virginia Law Enforcement

Pittsburgh Partners Keith Gamble and Kenneth Hopper recently presented a liability and legal update during the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) Firearms Instructor Certification Course at the State Police Professional Development Center in Institute, West Virginia.

The WVSP Firearms Instructor Certification Course is a 40-hour required program that prepares law enforcement officers to become certified firearms instructors within their respective agencies. Approximately 18 officers representing city police departments and sheriff’s offices from across West Virginia participated in this private training.

While the course focuses on firearms instructor certification, Keith and Ken’s presentation was dedicated exclusively to the classroom legal instruction. Their topics provided a broad legal overview of constitutional law, use of force, litigation and liability issues, policy and procedure review, best practices and practical considerations for law enforcement instructors.
